Enjoy a true adventure in our INTAG 2023 tours of "San Antonio Organic Farm", with more than 160 hectares of countryside.
The San Antonio Organic Farm consists of primary and secondary forest. The rainforest is interlaced with rivers, waterways, waterfalls, and natural springs flowing from underground waterways.
The cloud forest of the Intag Valley is one of the two most diverse places in the world! In addition to its high biodiversity, the cloud forest plays a key role in absorbing moisture from the atmosphere, becoming one of the largest water resources on earth. In experiencing this paradise you will bear witness to a natural event millions of years in the making.
The formation in the Andes of Ecuador, resulting in a mega diverse habitat for flora and fauna to manifest themselves in breathtaking ways. Our tours are designed to make your visit moving, educational and fun.
We suggest that not only do you hike, but that you experience -with your heart- a place full of biological resources of nature and innumerable expressions of life.
SHORT TOURS
Short tours are available starting from groups of two people and must be booked at least 2 days in advance.
*Discounts of 15% for tours available from 8 people onwards.
Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $10/person.
*With lunch at the farm $15/person
On this tour we will walk along a forest path at the foot of the Toabunche River, one of the clearest rivers in Intag flowing from nature aquifers. On our hike we will learn about the ecology of the subtropical cloud forest, its flora and fauna and why this forest is one of the most important places on the planet. Visitors can soak or swim in the river.
On this tour we will hike through the rain forest until we reach the San Antonio waterfall which is located in the upper part of the farm, just 30 minutes away. Along the way we will point out the main families of plants in the rainforest and we will learn about its importance as a water reserve for the planet.
This tour lasts 3 hours, has an extra cost of $10.00, which includes use of the beekeeping suit. We will start with a little talk about honey bees, caregivers of life. We will talk about its biology, social organization, environmental importance and honey production. Then we will visit the apiary where we will observe and practice what we have learned.
LONG TOURS
Long tours are available from 1 person and must be reserved at least 2 days in advance.
*Discounts of 15% per person are available for tour groups of 8 people or more.

Choose a tour based on your interest in learning or for fun. You can also create your own tour by mixing and matching 2 out of the 5 short tours that the farm offers.
Examples are:
1) Air Tour, organic lunch (prepared with the day's harvest), Water Tour.
2)Land Tour, organic lunch (prepared with the day's harvest), Fire Tour.
3) Extended 3-hour Ether Tour for those interested in venturing into the world of beekeeping.
Beekeeping talk with educational presentation, organic lunch (prepared with the day's harvest); practical visit to the apiary and a beekeeping handout which is provided as support material.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES:
Yoga and Meditation: Book your yoga or meditation classes during your visit with our facilitator Lola Nuñez.
Connection with horses: Enjoy 1 hour guided tour to connect with the horses. This is not necessarily an experience to ride a horse but to spend time with them, receive their energy and share with them. Reservation required 1 week in advance.
Bird watching
The cloud forests of Ecuador have been declared the first Area of International Importance for Birds in South America. The region is so rich in diversity of birdlife, that a distinct pattern of local bird species appears at roughly every 200 meters of elevation change.
Bird watching can be a very enjoyable and relaxing activity. Just a pair of binoculars and a guide to the site and you're all set! Bird watching is also something you can fully take advantage of in Ecuador. For those who love birdwatching: this is the closest thing to paradise. In Ecuador, you can find more than 1,600 different species of birds.

The Farm will take care of organizing your visit to any of the local enterprises and tourist attractions in our "neighborhood". To visit Finca Orgánica San Antonio it’s necessary to make a reservation at least 3 days in advance.
